My newest and first wedding cake! This is a three tiered, dark chocolate with raspberry filling cake with fondant. Everything is edible with the exception of the ribbon and roses.
My beloved husband freed me up this evening to do another couple runs on special occassion cakes. This is my first time working with fondant and other than the ridiculous amount of work (primarily kneading to get it nice and smooth) I'm really happy with how it turned out.
I've decided to start naming my cakes. The simple pink band with the white rose is "Victoria" and the pink and white roses is "Marie".
My first attempt at a formal cake. All in all, not too bad. I'm going to try a basket weave next weekend and see if I like that any better. The cake and filling taste great - the frosting is good too. All from scratch. Now if I could just get it a bit more "professional" looking I'd be good to go.
