Oh yeah baby

Down 5.2 lbs! That's the equivilant of 5 boxes of butter!!!!

My newest and first wedding cake! This is a three tiered, dark chocolate with raspberry filling cake with fondant. Everything is edible with the exception of the ribbon and roses.

I'm calling this one "Jessica" after the bride.

Another "run" on cakes

My beloved husband freed me up this evening to do another couple runs on special occassion cakes. This is my first time working with fondant and other than the ridiculous amount of work (primarily kneading to get it nice and smooth) I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I've decided to start naming my cakes. The simple pink band with the white rose is "Victoria" and the pink and white roses is "Marie".

Oh my!

My first attempt at a formal cake. All in all, not too bad. I'm going to try a basket weave next weekend and see if I like that any better. The cake and filling taste great - the frosting is good too. All from scratch. Now if I could just get it a bit more "professional" looking I'd be good to go.

I have linen issues. I love linens - nice linens, expensive linens. I have 800 thread count taste on a jersey knit budget. Imagine my joy when yesterday while out with my mom I found 300 thread count, cream, egyptian cotton sheets! Normally $120 marked down to $30.

I treated myself to two sets :-)
